Painting Project 1

Goal: to render space, light and shadows

Design constraints: black and white, observation, natural and artificial light

Materials used: oil paint, paper

Solutions discovered: directional stroke, shadows

I chose to story board a 10 sec scene from The Secret of NHIM directed by one of my favorite animators, Don Bluth. Below is the youtube link. It starts at 47 sec and ends at 57 sec. The sword fight with Justin and Jenner. My scanner failed so it is a photograph.
